    How'd it go today?

I haven't. I guess that's something I can do; move a coil to #2 leads and see if it dies. That would at least rule out a DOA replacement coil. I might wait til next week for that. I got everything back together, and it's needed this weekend. I'll just run it on 2 cylinders.

    How'd it go today?

#2 cylinder has never fired since I owned it. I found out when I checked the plugs. I figured it's the coil cause it's usually the coil. They go bad. I also get unusual impedance readings checking two of the coil terminals, but I don't know enough about it to know if it's really a bad reading...

    How'd it go today?

I'll have to find where the igniter's located. I may have to put it in the shop. I have almost no understanding of how any of this works. I could muddle my way around ancient analog systems with a distributor, points, and all of that, but I'm like a dog reading the newspaper reading this manual...

That looks great! Nice signature also. Very good handwriting. Looks kinda 19th century.

    How'd it go today?

New coil doesn't work. I know a real good quarry that chipper would look beautiful in, and nobody would know it's there; pretty much forever... Ok, so how does electronic ignition work? I have 12V at the pigtails. How does it know when to fire the plug if it always(presumably) has 12V at the...

    How'd it go today?

Staked a couple wells and got more firewood. I'm a little concerned about the elm I sent Kaveman. I found some more today, and it wasn't as fragrant as the first chunks I cut up. Hope I got you a good one! My coil for the chipper came in today. I'm looking forward to seeing how it doesn't get...

    How'd it go today?

I have plenty of real saws. What makes the poulan valuable is it's low cost and low general esteem. It cuts fine, and will keep up with any Husky in it's class, since end of the day, it's really just a Husqvarna. I can throw it in the bed of the truck, half ass cover it with something, and it...

    How'd it go today?

Today ate shit on numerous levels. I'll only get into the chainsaw. After a terrible day at work, I decided to look at my poulanpro to see why it isn't oiling. I lost the circlip to clutch retainer whatever on the clutch, and like a dumbass I started the saw with the spur and brakeband removed...

    How'd it go today?

I burned 100% Norway maple this weekend, and I'm still not impressed. Relatively low heat, and high ash remains. It does burn though, and getting it already seasoned is a stroke of good fortune, but I wouldn't seek it out under normal circumstances. Another positive is it splits like a dream...

Make sure you buy stuff your * going to* eat, and not stuff you "should" eat. No point in buying good food if it gets tossed. Better than jalapeño poppers is a low bar to cross, so you should be able to do better, even if the food you get isn't 'maximum health' or whatever.

Heh... I don't think I've ever read the first page. Figured it was old news, and didn't bother. Weird that a sprocket came apart.

The manual says 0.5mm wear, and it's time to change the spur. I figure that's overly conservative, so I pushed it up some. I have two grooves worn that might be 1mm each. I'd have to pull it out and look. I'm unsure of when a spur's really done though. I can't say the one I'm using is giving me...

    How'd it go today?

Expended a reel of chain today. I made up three chains for my cs400 in preparation for changing spurs, and I had enough left over for a 2511 chain. I've never really swapped chains. I usually install a chain, and it's there til it's done. Curious to see how it goes as far as spur life is concerned.

Sounds good Knotty. The ambiguity is a little disappointing, but better than a call for backup, and doctors speaking in hushed tones going on in your room. Hopefully the dosage adjustment corrects the problem.

    How'd it go today?

Well, just mind your brain and take care of yourself. Worrying won't do anything. Everything is what it is. Just has to be dealt with, but I'd definitely deal with it.

    How'd it go today?

Holy shit Knotty! Have you had anything like this before? It would be a good idea to get looked at by a doctor whether or not you start feeling better. Livers seem like the kind of thing that Just Works™. Better to get it looked at before permanent damage possibly occurs.

Another firewood day. Cherry for next year, Norway maple for this year. Burnham would be jealous of my boutique spalted maple :^D Curious to see how it burns. I've never used more than a piece or two at a time. I don't recall being impressed. This stuff has been long dead, and fully suspended...

No money in your pocket either! I keep some Aspen around for special purposes, but it's expensive when you're not really doing this stuff for money. No bid price to lose it in. If came down to running Aspen or quitting 2stroke, I guess I'd find the money for Aspen, but it would be a serious...

    How'd it go today?

I'm using an Oregon ⅜"lp chain on my cs400. I found it in the trash. It's a consumer safety chain. I've noticed it's more semi than Stihl is. The corner's more rounded than Stihl semi. It's giving me problems sharpening. I have a harder time with semichisel anyway, and the extra roundness...
