I'm only changing these tires out of desperation. The pallet forks work very well, I just had to go to the mill to get the tractor. I don't want do anything that would tempt me to change more tires.
It rained for 30 seconds this morning, then the sun came out. started walk8ng to the sawmill to get my tractor, then it downpoured fir two hours. I had to use the pallet forks to unseat a bead. I finished changing the tire and went inside to get dried off, and now it's sunny again. :bs:
At 3:00 my outdoor thermometer said it was 96F. The sensor is under the eaves of my garage, so no direct sunlight, and it was overcast most of the day.
Looks like a prolonged heat wave for us. 90's for the extended forecast. Not impressive to many of you, but really hard on us in the Northeast. Humidity was a bit lower today. 93 during my peak sawmilling window.
A little break from the heat today. It's 58 right now. Alternating storms, heating/cooling, and wind. The storm I mentioned earlier in the thread did a huge amount of damage. Probably 100 yards wide x 1/2 mile long zone of total destruction.
Small tornado, or something 1/2 mile up the road last night. Easily 100 trees down in a 1/4 mile visible from the road. Power only off for an hour. Been hot and sticky. Thundering hard right now. Might get a little relief from the heat after.
Looks like a wet week coming. I haven't looked at the hourly, sometimes it's not raining during good working hours, but you really need to wait until the day before to check.
Steady rain all day. I had to go to the Depot for some plumbing parts and on the way home saw several different results due to temperature and elevation. There's going to be plenty of ice damage in some areas.
My sister designed a 1/4 page ad for or local ad paper when I was getting into snow plowing in '02. It was a group of skeletons around a dinner table. The text was "Don't Let Your Dinner Party Turn Into The Donner Party!" I never ran it, but I thought it was awesome.
