Congrats on the new pup and great pics everyone.
Burnham we've hashed out the cat debate once or twice before I think. I don't like birds. Lol. I shoot nearly as many as the cats get I'm guessing. Sorry.
Yah for me too. This morning driving home from work(graveyard shift). The local yokel radio station was announcing the winner of their contest for naming the dJ's new dog. Thunder was the winning name. :(
Always kind of wondered. Today he scaled out at 135pds. That's as a skinny old bag of bones compared to what he was. That's got to put his 'brother' Tanky at a easy 170-180 as he is clearly much much larger than Thundy had become. One of my favourite pics of the boys. Now knowing some reference...
Thanks. About thirteen years out of him. He lived a good life. Was hoping/thinking he'd make the summer. Seems shitty to live through the winter and die in the spring. We really babied him this last year and glad we did.
Younger days.
Well I finally took a few days off and it could've started out a little better. RIP ole Thundy. Twisted a gut on me.
He was a great dog. Not a mean bone in him, stoic to the end. Heart rate doubled and clearly suffering but not a whimper or whine out of him.
Cool. I'd love to have a moat!
My Thundy boy is getting pretty easy going in his old age. That's pumpkin the calico cat invading this dog thread! She's a weird cat, loves dogs.
What's funny is over the years he's had a few different cuts and never needed any special attention, licked a bit but never obsessed or chewed himself apart. This time though he really did a number on himself. He's getting better though scabbed right over now and didn't even growl with this...
Cool. That we may even have on hand I think.
This has been a real pita, started out as quite a small cut and far from the first cut he's ever had in his eleven years. Dabbed some polysporin on it and thought he'd be good to go. Brought him out of the kennel one day and he'd hamburgered it. Had...
I had to look that stuff up, it's for cold sores? It stinks real bad though? We have been trying to figure something to put on the bandage so he won't go at it.
Under constant supervision he never goes for the wound. He knows we don't want him too, he's gotten enough trouble for it that he won't go for it at all if he's accompanied. But left on his own I know he'd tear into it again. Looks rough in the pic there but it's actually healing up pretty good...
The muzzle has only been on for a beer so far. Let's say 20min. I just got it today. So the jury is still out on its effectiveness. But by next week he's going to have to be left alone so we are thinking muzzle, cone, and wrap it for the best chance of success. The last week or so we've just...
Just hanging with the beast! I don't know if you'd really call it a rescue session or not. Lol. But the beer is good and ole thunderbal lecter doesn't seem to mind the muzzle that much. Stupid old fool is gonna chew his leg right off if we let him. Family went out to the show but I'm on dog...
