Yeah the portability is great but if i had the room for a larger mill or trailer i would have one. One day il have the room why not have more than one setup ? Different mills for different jobs!
Ok will do. I run 40:1 and keep saw idling a minute between cuts. Yeah its very enjoyable alright i love it.. should be selling more slabs this week. Then invest in a 42inch bar i think. Have a 36inch g.b titanium pro top bar on it now
Yeah i dont really mind it and It looks good on a rim of a bowl if you just leave the saw marks.. anyone have any ideas why its leaving such a rough surface like this?? Its a double skip ripping chain at 10° new chain and i keep it sharp. I thought maybe winch speed as well as such soft wood...
Yeah it was pretty tight i didnt want to tighten it any more.. i think it cut a rough surface like that because timber is pretty soft and was real wet . And i was only wedging easily not pushing them in hard
Im selling all but one of seven slabs.. il make a coffee table to probably sell with the slab i keep. Its awesome timber so nice to work with so soft those slabs took seven mins on average each to cut i think thats pretty quick
There is a pretty high proportion of wankers that seem to have a hard time being themselves here too mate.. but i guess they are everywhere in the world today
Yeah thats what i thought. Il turn some a little larger for that. May be a good seller. That one was intended as a jewellery bowl for a workmates mother
Ha thanks everyone! He does do nice work. We will be slabbing more of that red cedar log this weekend shall post pics. This is a "yellow box" bowl with ledge around rim pretty tough stuff
Heres a bowla mate turned from that blackbutt burl chunk.. well im pretty sure its blackbutt. I havent turned any pieces of that chunk yet but shall be soon
