    The Official Work Pictures Thread

The gods were looking out for you Andrey. They gave you what you needed, not what you wanted. Treework's better with clouds :^)

    The Official Work Pictures Thread

Today, according to the plan, I had: rise at 05:30, disperse the clouds and set good weather - 06:30, 08:00-16:00 - feat). I couldn't handle the clouds), but otherwise everything is fine -

    How'd it go today?

Buying used(be VERY cautious with textiles!) will save a ton of money, but you have to be patient getting everything assembled. Also, Ikea. edit: Wood, bricks, cardboard and fabric can go a long way on the cheap

    PSA: Check Your Passwords

I believe it's correct, but I'm not qualified to give a tutorial on the principles. I only have a very high level understanding of the concepts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy_(information_theory)

    PSA: Check Your Passwords

Is that math factually correct? Why 2 to an exponential power?

    How'd it go today?

I had my 5+ hour flight to Boston yesterday morning and then I got a ride to my new apartment in Quincy. It's not as modern as my old apartment, and it's a bit smaller, but not by much. I currently have no furniture, so I'm sitting on a lawn chair and an air mattress. And two lamps. Trying to...

    Considering some springboards

I find being 4' taller to be helpful, rarely. Being 10' tall can be veery niiize (Borat haha).

    How's the splice today?

What splicing directions did you use, the core bury looks longer than needed? The core bury can be made easier by reducing it by half for a couple of inches more than the bury length.

Armoring drop-zones rather than rigging, and armoring for machines.

We had a spare trailer full of tires: tractor to small auto size, that we would stack to about four or five feet tall and then place plywood over - dropped massive trunks across drives that way with no damage. Now with the crane there are years of vine growth over that trailer out back of the farm.

    Considering some springboards

Cant run in spikes and risk puncture injury doing so. Butt of tree jumps up and either swats you like a bug or hits you for a home run. Steep terrain, spring boards get you where you cant stand.

Armoring drop-zones rather than rigging, and armoring for machines.

Try the builders bag with rakings, sawdust and chips. You will be surprised how well they work and little to no clear up at the end as they are all in the bag already.

    Considering some springboards

I'm having trouble deciding which is the worse scenario. Let's say you're 3m up on springboards. Bailing out at that height is sketchy, especially in rough terrain. Could end up with a life changing/ending injury, but you're out of the tree fast(incapacitated with a tree coming down on top of...

I have a new tenant in my sawmill shed/tiny house. Not sure nibbling the lawn in exchange for rent is going to work out as well as I'd hoped.

    Considering some springboards

See my first post. If your spurring a tree, and would need a lanyard to do so, if your dropping a tree and you want to de ass the area quickly, being on spurs with lanyard is not an option.

    Northern California Fires

Unfortunatly for some people its like a disease, others its a thrill seaking by lighting the fire then going on the trucks. Its hard to explain as theres so many reasons that people do it.

    Considering some springboards

Why would someone use springboards rather than spurs? If the answer is 'a logger has springboards', what's the workflow like in a logging operation? You're out in the backcountry. You have your saw, fuel/oil, miscellaneous logging stuff... Where are the springboards? Seems like a lot of weight...
