    Both Brian and Friedrich make valid points. If a fence is built in panels (many are not, but anyway) and it is all solid and in good repair then removing/replacing a panel or two can make sense. But if the whole shebang is weak, with materials that are in too poor condition to work with...

    some fences just stand up out of habit. i rather rig more and work less on shitty fences. sometimes i remove a fence section but i try not to, maybe i‘m dump that way :)
