    Everything about the Danish pig industry turns my stomach to be honest, although its not just the Danes they do seem to be among the worst offenders.

    True, even the watery pink antibiotic filled mass produced stuff churned out by the tonne is strangely irresistible when grilled till crispy and slapped between two slices of bread. Not a patch on the real thing though, and I find the welfare issues hard to stomach.

    Yes and no. It certainly brings home the reality of eating meat, that a living creature has to die. On the other hand I had a very experienced professional butcher kill them, and I'm certain they didn't suffer or even know what happened. A bittersweet experience for sure.

    Fried with onions and some mashed potato. It was good, totally different to anything you can buy. Fresh as in about an hour after the pig was killed.
