The rear supports will come off the trailer frame outside of the tilt deck in front of the fenders. Front supports can come off the frame in front of the deck.
Switching from 8 ply 15" tires to 10 or even 14 ply 16" tires will greatly reduce the chance of blowouts.
Recently I began considering trading my 18' tandem axle trailer for a 14' single axle tilt trailer. I have a long list of advantages and only 2 disadvantages. First of all, I have had 2 accidents in the last year with the 18' trailer. Maybe my age or maybe I am just not as good of a driver as I...
This morning I pulled up to my local diner and saw this parked out front. A 1947 Lincoln. Upon closer inspection it is obviously a resto-mod with modern drivetrain and conveniences like power windows and air conditioning. An old transmission guy on another forum pointed out the original came...
Around here we would hire a grapple truck to haul it. About $500 for them to load and haul 65 yards of tree debris. Just stack it up where they can get to it. But maybe you are too far out in the sticks to have any local grapple truck companies.
Usually only needed with green wood. Most of this is pretty dry, but it did just start raining. Hopefully I can revive it in the morning and burn off the rest of my wood.
Yes, you're welcome. And we all acknowledge that you are the greatest welder of all time and can fix it yourself in 15 minutes. My apologies if you misunderstood my previous post as challenging your magnificence.
I try really hard to have your back and have for several years in spite of how...
Don't let them off the hook for it! If you weld it at all on your own, then it is your problem forever after. Let them handle it under warranty and keep on them if they weld it and it leaks again.
I just don't want to see you weld it and then later the dealer denies a warranty claim. Mick had his loader back 3 times (at least) for a cracked weld in the tank and they never did get it fixed 100%. They ended up buying back the loader after a year and a half. Then he bought an Avant.
I used the compressor today for the first time to refill a flat tire on my buddy's dump trailer. Took about 4 minutes to inflate it from less than 5 lbs to 60 lbs.
I finally mounted an air compressor in my dump truck today. It barely fit in the 18"x18"x24" box mounted under the dump bed. The compressor is a Puma PD-1006. It draws up to 30 amps so I ran a 8ga wire for power. The wire coming out of the machine is prob 10-12ga but less than 1' long.
I have a...
Similar happened to me with my Avant last year. 25hp Kubota engine, new starter was over $600!!! Saved the old one to have rebuilt locally for a spare.
I have two memorable experiences with Rotella. First was when I worked for the city of Winter Park in the Forestry division about 27 years ago. City maintained equipment, all oil changes on a regular schedule. The Vermeer 1250 chipper had about 1200 hours on it. Burned oil like a freight train...
Must have been running Rotella oil. That crap is good for maybe 100 hours and turns to water. Do yourself a favor and run ANY brand of oil except Rotella in your diesels!
Nice looking machine, similar to my Avant. You mentioned no need for the boom extension but I find it super handy. I leave mine fully extended almost all the time because it puts the grapple out where I can see it easier. I suck it in when picking up heavy pieces but then I still extend it out...
What I discovered here in Florida anyways is that when getting your license renewed if you indicate that your driving is Intrastate rather than Interstate then you are not required to get the DOT physical. I went 15 years without ever having a DOT physical then one time I thought "Yeah, it might...
