Wife is away with kids looking at indoctrination centers (sorry, colleges) for my son, so I'm home alone. Cooked up some 15-min marinade london broil, reheated some asian rice, and grabbed the next serving from the 3-day salad I made:

Basa/swai is available in most Asian markets, as well as on the menu in most SE Asian (Vietnamese, Malaysian, Thai, etc.) restaurants around here. A little softer than catfish, IMO, but comparable as Burnham described.

Family took the 30+ minute ride south for Pho tonight. Will remember to take pictures next time.

Wifey did double-cooked pork, bamboo and tofu-knot soup and some leftover roasted ribs.

Kid hit it out of the park tonight. Smoked corned beef (took him 9 hours to make), pan-fried potato slices in garlic, olive oil and spices, and quickie cole slaw. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Since wifey and I are recovering from WuFlu, our teenage son has become the chef of the kitchen. Last night was marinated skirt steak, grilled portabellas and shreded, fried potatoes. Tonight, he did spaghetti w/modified marinara (homemade meatballs, peppers and fungus) and a garden salad...

A&P was the "Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co", back here in the east, and they were one of the biggest supermarket chains around. They were based in North NJ, and did have a rep or carrying some of the "finer things". They unfortunately lost out to other chains (Shop Rite, FoodTown, Aldi, Food...

Love the name of that pizzeria (Mustachio's). I can just picture the short, rotund Italian w/the big bushy mustache spinning the dough in the air constantly wise-craccking "Atsa matta wit choo"... (Full disclosure, I'm almost half Italian, so I can get away w/that.... ;) )

Austin, you never throw out hot sauce. If anything, save it for that unwanted guest that comes over and help "flavor up" something you serve them..... ;)

Absolutely on grill and Shell steak is it's cousin. see attached (chart refers to it as Top Loin; it's Shell Steak up here in your old stomping grounds).

Toss up between Shell & Porterhouse. Same section of beef.

Cooked up some thin spaghetti and finished off the last of the mild sauce I made a few weeks ago. Will probably do another batch this weekend.

My son has gotten very creative in the last year and a 1/2, and tonight he did the main course: some kick-ass shrimp kabobs on the grill. The Mrs. followed up w/stir fried spinach, onions and garlic, and a quicky fried quinoa & rice. Not a speck left on anyone's plate or serving plate when...

Spaghetti w/my homemade sauce (sweet for the kids, spicy for the wife & I) and an oversized garden salad last night. ;)

It's Korean. My Chinese wife goes "across the border" to the Korean market a half hour from here to get sone of the best fresh meat & veggies you can find, an she's always bringing back kimchi.

Geez Rajan, don't let the wife in on your side job escapades..... ;)
