    How'd it go today?

When I was a kid growing up in my dad's service station he always used Safety Seal plugs. He taught me that the smooth sided reamer would separate the steel belts in the tire instead of cutting them. Cutting the belts can create a weak spot. I've used the same brand for 40 years. Many times I've...

I have tinnitus so it sounds like that to me all the time. Sucks constantly asking people to speak up because they need to be louder than the ringing in my ears if I'm going to hear them.

Except I keep forgetting where I put it! :dur:

    How'd it go today?

Got tired of waiting on friends and decided to cut down this tree in my yard today. First time in climbing gear in over 10 years. Couldn't get the saddle up over my fat ass because I'm 40 lbs heavier than the last time I put it on. Strap broke on my gaffs so I rigged it with some heavy duty zip...

I've used gas powered hedge trimmers for 40 years. Haven't messed with electric (with cord) hedge trimmers since I was a kid. About 2 years ago I bought a DeWalt battery powered hedge trimmer and other than the annoying safety lugs on the bar it works great. I can run them for well over an hour...

Can't you find a carb with both adjustment needles to swap on to that saw? I used to do it many times on several 200T's. Just need the right part number to look up.

Sorry to hear about losing the truck. My NEWEST truck was a 2008, I didn't want anything to do with the Tier 4 diesel emissions crap. Best wishes on the sale. I'm sure I did it wrong but I figured without me there wasn't much of a business to sell. I'm getting a cut on jobs coming from my...

Stephen, what are we looking at? Mick, I have an upper tooth that the filling fell out 2 years ago. I believe it's cracked in half as I can wiggle the inside half but not the outside half. Been babying it for 2 years prolonging the inevitable.

    How'd it go today?

Just catching up on this, Rich. Hoping for a full and quick recovery for you. My experience with down time is that I stop spending money on anything except absolute necessities. It sucks when the cash flow spigot gets shut off. So keep your hopes up and hang on tight to every dollar (or whatever...

    How'd it go today?

I used them for a few months almost 2 years ago. The bad leads were incredibly frustrating. Many times -but not always- I could get credit for bad leads. It took me a while to burn up my prepaid credit balance (no refunds) before I could cancel. Then when I tried to cancel they would bribe me...

About 90% are gang related, they tend to shoot each other a lot. Helps keep their numbers down. Almost like a problem that solves itself. ;)

I've had awesome results adding ATF to my diesel fuel to help quiet down tapping injectors. In my old bucket truck I ran my Cat 3126 over 18,000 hours and never pulled the injectors. Had to add some ATF every 4th or 5th tank of fuel though.

Way back in about 1997 when I worked for Davey (res and comm, not line clearance) I was assigned a removal that grew up around a power pole and had wires running in 3 directions through it. Supervisor said they were cutting the power and I had 2 hours to get it below the wires (with only one...

That has got to be the most disgusting kitchen I have ever seen. :eek3: Is everybody else here going to pretend that it's ok? Actually I take it back. When I went up to NC 15-20 years ago and met up with some other guys to work with Guy Meuller on storm work, his kitchen was just as bad. Bags...

Tree climbing is ALWAYS a self-rescue situation. You and you alone will be the one to save yourself in a bad situation. A couple close calls early on in my climbing career taught me that and I learned to ALWAYS have a clear shot to the ground. Still never liked SRT though. Doubled rope had too...

How's the swelling, Patrick? Hopefully you have antihistamines on hand for the swelling. Watch for breathing issues and I hope you have somebody with you to keep an eye on you.
