I agree! It's like owning a Ferrari and just leaving it sitting in the garage. Why own something that does nothing but sit there and not get used? I don't really own any high dollar guns...my AR is the most expensive one, but I machined the lower receiver from an 80% forging. I built the lower...
This was the reason I ended up going to a Mossberg 500 20ga youth model after getting rid of my Mossberg 535 Turkey gun. I needed something I could shoot lefty and the 535 was a right-handed thumb-hole stock. After the first round with it at the range, it was a night and day difference. I was...
Two of my friends back home in Virginia have been diagnosed with Lyme disease this spring. The ticks are really bad in the Dismal Swamp this year. I've been keep on the lookout for them here too since we've been doing periodic days of land clearing.
I spent some time today on one of our jobs finally working on editing some of the photos I've shot over the past week for the company Facebook page and website. The boss told me to capture the team in their natural environment, so... ask and ye shall receive!
Some of them are from today's...
Here was one of our jobs from Thursday before we got rained out. This tree, or what was left of it was hit by lightning on Wednesday night. I've seen a few lightning-struck trees before, but never any this bad. There was debris spread out over an area about the size of a football field.
We got rained out today after our first job, a Norway Maple takedown in a small backyard. Now, I'm sitting here editing photos from work to get stuff ready to update the company website and Facebook page for my boss after our meeting this afternoon.
Yeah, I basically spent last weekend in and out of the office for various crises that arose. Yesterday was college football and catching up on sleep. Today was all about errands and tending to the housekeeping.
I know what you're implying all too well! Just how big of a problem is alcohol, let alone substance abuse on the cape and islands these days anyhow? It was bad enough during my brief tenure up there a few years back.
Tonight was a vegetarian scramble wrap. Egg beaters Florentine, some mixed grilled veggies, and the last boca-burger crumbled into it, all on a low-carb, multi-grain wrap.
Since I was relegated to the toaster and microwave at the hotel tonight, I microwaved my burger, but otherwise it was a boca-burger on low-carb 12 grain bread, broccoli and cheese, and cinnamon-orange herbal tea.
Twas tasty! :D
I'm wearing something slightly similar.
Before I left home in December to hit the road, my corpsman friend said that if I needed a pair of boots, I could grab his barely worn pair from his time at Club Gitmo. Since my Redwings loggers were beyond repair (Hey, I had them for 10 years... they...
I finally met up with some friends last night here in Cedar Rapids. We went to Parlor City Pub. I ended up with a blackened shrimp and low-carb spinach flatbread wrap, with "Philly Cheesesteak Soup."
I hate that I didn't get pictures. :( The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the...
It's been an up and down kind of day here. I started the morning with finding that a family friend lost his fight with MS the other day. I came back to the room, and took care of some paperwork after reading the paper(USA Today). I got bored around mid-day, so I went out for a 2.25mi walk...
Been here since Saturday, after driving down from Sactown. We slept there early Saturday morning after dropping our order off at about 3 AM. Donner was fun for my first time.
Happy Birthday my fellow Aquarians! I am hoping this day keeps getting better becauseit has started out pretty awesome as it is. I got to see the sun rise and dance across the hood of the truck, here in Lodi, Ca, and above all, reflect on almost 27 years worth of a ride in life... and what a...
