I've got a Simpson capstan. Useful. So much of our work is away from the truck, and other things to buy.

Well, at least you have a powered winch to put to the job as required. I applaud. I needed the well-used and often neglected Lewis winch, powered by an ancient but reliable Stihl 056, more than a few times when the truck mounted Warn couldn't be put in play.

Well done. What tricks has it been treated to? The 3/4 wrap handle is a must in my world. I loved the USFS owned 066 I ran for at least 15 years when working as a govt. slave wage peep :). The Hotshot crew's stock 660 I used a few times on fireline work was a disappointment in comparison...

Winch for the win. I'd have been left with few palatable choices many a time in my USFS work without the big Warn on the front bumper of my several assigned 4x4 trucks. I have not heard yet any real reason why so few arb services have one or more on their rigs...maybe it is pure lack of...

Honestly, with internet printing and a dog- oriented place to sell them, like a locally owned pet supply store, why not!

    Foot accender with spurs

I was using spikes last week...wierd access to a big macrocarpa. I had to tip toe across the lintel of an outside door between a rock wall and the tree trunk at about 2.5m up. All I could hear was Burham's voice in my head...DON'T WALK IN YOUR SPIKES!!!! After wobbling my way across once, and...

Made lemonade out of significant rain, burning. The holly and hazelnut choked first behind the landscaping is now more open allowing more view into the forest. Idk if they use their telescope or just looking. They want it opened up.

I think I may have landed my dream customer. She is slightly eccentric, yard full of mature trees, many young and ornamental trees, fruit trees, evergreens. I get a call from her who got my name from a guy who retired. The call was a basswood removal 90+’er that was split badly and threatening...
