What Non Essential Gear Do You Think Is Worth Owning?

When I huck a log, I definitely let go of one and/ or the other, if the tool won't release and it might tweak a joint. Extended reaching, less bending, ergonomic grips.

    How's the splice today?

Well the wires were too short to do a proper grommet (not enough wire to do the core at all) but here's some. Man these little wires sure love to get loose  I'll likely just use the core wires to sieze them and they work fine for what i was thinking, they just help keep the shape of the...

    The Official Happy Birthday thread!!!

Woo boy...I am reminded by this post of a time I swung my spur-wearing right foot over a large Doug fir limb at almost hip high. Why from that position relative to the limb I don't recall, but most likely some other obstruction above. Anyway, I managed to jam my knee against the trunk of the...

Yes, a lift would have been handy. I won’t get one though, might as well become a window cleaner then.

    Wall of Shame: Wannabe Experts

I buy the cheap Forester carbide blades for my swing saw. Tho I’ve been eyeing up this mini sized forestry mower. That only needs 14 gpm to operate and eats 8” wood.

I hear ya. I know you plan on wrapping it up within a few years but just wondering if you give/gave any thought to getting a lift? Could you do this oak with a lift? If so, a lift cuts back on alot of those 3:30 am thoughts. I just priced a large dead beech today, it has a weird upper...

    How'd it go today?

No, act of nature kinda thing. But it is what it is. You can either get pissed off about it or take time to smell the roses and enjoy the adventure, still faster than driving.

I've had a couple occasions where I was in an uncomfortable position, and I had to tell myself to "pay attention before you end up on the news". Nothing drastic, or scary, but it was heading in that direction if a correction wasn't made.

    How'd it go today?

Woke up at 3am so the family could get picked at 4am. Made it to the first flight but got delayed forty minutes due to weather. So we missed our second flight in Phoenix AZ by five minutes, so here we sit playing Uno at gate A11. It could be worse I guess.

It was ok, Avant made it better. Fibre cable and house underneath made it tricky, one of those jobs that’s been sitting around for a week or two, mostly coming to the forefront of my mind at 3.30 am for an hour or two. I passed by it a couple of times recently and ran through it in my head, I...

    How'd it go today?

Routine day. Some property work at work. I washed Spot's blankets from winter, and washed my helmet. I've been meaning to do the blankets for awhile, but haven't made the time. She doesn't use the enclosure when it's warm, so it wasn't pressing. I wash them in a bucket with soapy water, and hang...
