Please photograph this job! Video would be cool but that’s asking a bit much! Lol.

I thought of that but ruled it out believing had to get the first tree out before that could happen effectively and I couldn’t have done big chunks of trunk on the smaller tree. That was my thought process but you know a helluva lot more than I. How would you have set up the speed line in this...

2 white pines. 10 hours. Crew of 3 (John and a young man from my workplace). 3 dump runs at 45 minutes per. Limbs chipped in Johns 6” Bandit. Climbed the larger one and hand tossed the smaller limbs on the way up as well as some natural crotch rigging. Set a rigging line through an ultra and...

John and I removed this cherry. 4 hrs. Minor rope work. Experimented with the rope jack which almost led to a struck by. Better to have devices like that mounted away from the base of the tree when you can. Used the new Echo 80 cc blower and did not need to rake! That thing is one hell of a...

Not tree work but somewhat unusual. I had a malfunctioning jet pump and pressure tank. That was also in the way of a waterproofing contractor. Replaced the jet pump and pressure tank as well as the drop pipe for the well. Relocated all the equipment to facilitate the waterproofing. The...

Besides getting it off the house, he wants less volume. He wanted it topped but I told him that I wouldn’t do that and gave him reasons why it shouldn’t be done. We agreed on thinning. If my tree, I’d only deadwood it and reduce it towards the house

I know pictures are hard to judge and I didn’t put anything by the trunk for reference. I’m thinking it’ll take me 4 hours but I’m still slow.

How long would it take you guys to thin, deadwood, remove crossing branches on this pin oak and reduce it off the house? Basically, climb time only.

The kind where one gaff comes out every 15 minutes due to rot and vines. Hard to hit anything solid because your boot hits the ivy before you can sink the gaff deep into the tree. Ivy trees are the worst. Preaching to the choir, for sure.

Nasty, half dead, vine covered, line clearance hacked black walnut came down today. It was short but had limbs over 2 shed and a spread over 3 back yards. John and I took care of it. It was in the city and I dislike going into the city. Everything is tighter and more potential for theft. The...

Star magnolia trim from a while back. Got it off neighbors property and thin out the twisted growth caused by a massive limb crushing a good portion of it.

An ash and holly John and I did a little while ago. I hate to re- top a tree, especially a tree that is doing poorly because of the topping. Took some of the larger deadwood out and picked the best epicormic growth to bear leaves in the spring. Canopy raise of a holly. Tree work has been near...

Yeah but that’s a 30K job billed directly to insurance. That job required a 120T crane, 2 100’ lifts, excavator, avant, 20” chipper, and 2 chip trucks. Needed a crew of 8 and all this was double time for emergency work. Edited to add: mostly sarcasm but based on what some companies do.

Finished up a day and a half job with John. We trimmed and deadwooded 4 trees over a house and deck. 2 hickory, 1 poplar, and 1 black oak. Hickory leaned over the home pretty far and got end weight reductions at its leader tips and a thinning. We used a speed line for the 1st time and it was...

Just a deadwood (and some that would soon be deadwood) on a black walnut. Homeowner spends hours a day in her garden and most of the tree is over it. It’s pretty cool, all the mountain biking, weight / body weight training, and stretching really paid off in the tree. Definitely see results and...

I think there’s a demarcation between liking people and disliking their government or its actions. Hell, I don’t like 1/2 the policies, politicians, or decisions of my own government.
