interesting, i use a raker gauge (gage? ) and would think that in general i take one pass with a dull (always forget to get a new one) flat file every other sharpening. but i sharpen as soon as it‘s slightly dull. and i sharpen till the teeth are gone…

From an old thread, some thoughts by me... thread started by our sadly gone friend Jed. This is a good one. https://www.masterblasterhome.com/threads/someone-might-care-who-knows.18400/page-16#post-1027945

    The Joke/Funny Pic/Video Thread

Darwin Award Winners: # 1 I am a medical student currently doing a rotation in toxicology at the poison control center. Today, this woman called in very upset because she caught her little daughter eating ants. I quickly reassured her that the ants are not harmful and there would be no need to...

A good flat mill file and give her five full strokes per sharpening for softwoods, 2-3 for hardwood. That will keep your rakers about right. Typically a good pronounced flat spot on the rakers, properly angled, and you're pretty much good for the life of the chain. Folks get waaaaaay to uppity...

    Contract climber rate?

Hmm. Legals aside, I am personally responsible for what I break, damage or what have you. If I made the cut, it's on me. If I gave the "go" word, I am taking responsibility for what happens. I take ownership to extremes. That's what I'm paid for, responsibility to mitigate risk and the skill to...

I know what you mean, brother. In my last few years with the USFS, I was about done with finding any fun in dragging that 084/60 in. bar and chain out through the brush. Even downsized to the 42 in. b&c, it was a task. Younger bodies still had the steam...I liked being the wisdom dispensing...

...rigging quicker. Left throw lines so we can get up there as soon as we get to the job tomorrow. Also we are in a heat wave. It made it to a balmy 23*F this afternoon. Supposed to be about the same temperature at start time tomorrow. Hoping I get another climber tomorrow so I can run ground...

I tried several different treatment methods over the last half dozen years on the Tundra. Most worked a bit more or less, but none lasted very long. Never tried DEET :).

I buffed the computer screen on my sawmill with some baking soda toothpaste I didn't like. Worked very well.

Youd be surprised how much you can get on older head light lenses with just some crome polish treatment.

Subs, here, as seperate entities, aren't covered to drive any vehicles, either. Driving is a common need I have if bringing on an employee. If we need more people, we need more equipment or the same equipment in shorter time-frames.

    Contract climber rate?

Might I add in my example above. I was helping a friend out and he asked if I could move some plywood boards that were on an aspestos roof. We were removing a large pine tree that had compromised 9 garages at an apartment. I tried to move the boards, the walls had shifted, unknown to us the...
