Subs, here, as seperate entities, aren't covered to drive any vehicles, either.
Driving is a common need I have if bringing on an employee. If we need more people, we need more equipment or the same equipment in shorter time-frames.
Here, legally, the two business must operate separately, never together. The Sub-contractor climber can't work with the General Contractor's ground worker.
Does that rule get broken? All the time!

I think it's different being a subcontractor than an employeeas to responsibility for damage.
This gets messy when a subcontractor is working with tools and employees of the general (main) contractor.
Subs can't use/ work with general contractors', tools, employees, nor supervision/...
I tell people routinely that I like to squeeze the trigger as much as possible to get the wood on the ground, using as little hand handling or rigging/ extra tools as sensible.
Binding means pulling extra gear from the truck, hauling to the tree, install, removal from a log that may not need...
