    The Joke/Funny Pic/Video Thread

Exactly. That's a close look at a death wish.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Wind exacerbates low temps like nothing else...except being wet in the wind at low temps :).

    How'd it go today?

This has been a fairly mild winter here...I'm at a little less than 1 cord burned so far this season. And it's worth noting we are retired and thus are home most of the time. When working, our use was always lower just because we were away all day at least five out of seven days. Normal...

    How'd it go today?

I like stacking my own firewood. But I'm a bit ocd about some things like that, and I really like to look at a properly stacked woodshed, which I must since they are right in view from the living room and outdoor decks. For someone else?...not so much :).

Keen Targhee II's. My everyday footwear this time of year.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Fleece cap, fleece pullover, fleece lined nylon jacket, insulated leather driving gloves. Seat heater on, and cabin heater set on 85 degrees. Side windows up. I was toasty!

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Finally, we are into a spell of really nice weather. After all the rain and wind, it's an unseasonable joy. Sunny, just below freezing at night, around 50 daytimes. I took the Jaguar out for the first time in a couple of months, top down, that was nice.

    Exercise

That old crew boss was a pistol...grump after grump at the crew all day. But he got good work out of a bunch of 70's era hippie types, and he kept us together when the inevitable interpersonal frictions flared from time to time...partly because we all had a common enemy in him :). He never...

    Exercise

Following Rich and his regimen reminded me of a long-ago time when I was a young punk working a seasonal USFS job on a tree planting crew. The gnarly grump of a crew boss said something one day as we were arriving back to town in the green FS crummy, that I have always remembered. We passed a...

Just attaching both ends of that lanyard to the center point/bridge on his harness would have kept him from getting squished. But of course, he'd need to have assessed the barberchair risk accurately to make that decision.

    Sewn vs spliced eyes

Well, it's not like you would be breaking the bank to give one a try and see if your concerns hold water. For me, buying premade eye2eye hitch cords has never appealed because I prefer to be able to adjust ad infinitum to the best length for my use. I suppose if you are splicing your own, you...

    Sewn vs spliced eyes

There is one other salient point in the question of which to pick...that being with the stitched eye, just like a tied eye, the cordage is of uniform diameter and stiffness right up to the eye. With a splice, you have the bury length towards each eye where neither is the same as the host...
