Yeah day three has a plank I think. I’ve been doing some planks with the F3 group. Can’t remember the time. I’m sure I’ll be ok for a minute. I’ll do what I can and try for better next round

I do planks from time to time, but I find them boring. They’re easier if watching something. I usually pull up a music video on YouTube and watch it while holding the plank. Also gives you a target, based on the length of the video. I’m shooting for a 5-minute plank.

Planks are like a static pose…. A lot of Climbing is holding awkward poses at least pruning the tips.
I miss3d the 50k sign up. Gonna just do it myself by myself for my self. I’ll get a selfie

I remember an old botany boss in his office fat no sunlight 24 pack of Diet Pepsi next to his desk.
Office death..

We lucky fellas.

Yeah Rich maybe no running. :)

Went to F3 this morning and then 90 minutes of BJJ. Took a few hours off to do family time and the the defreset workout. This one sucked. I did as much as I could. Stopped the clock a few times to rest on a few.

Following Rich and his regimen reminded me of a long-ago time when I was a young punk working a seasonal USFS job on a tree planting crew. The gnarly grump of a crew boss said something one day as we were arriving back to town in the green FS crummy, that I have always remembered.

We passed a fellow jogging down the road shoulder, and that old sob growled, "If I ever, I mean EVER, see one of you bastids running after work, I will know you have been lazin' off on me and you will regret that day because I will make effin' sure you work hard enough the rest of your sorry life to not have an ounce of steam left for any stoopid EXERCISE".

I'm still trying to figure out how Rich is doing his activities while being a tree guy at the same time. #Beast

Know what you mean, but he does.
I played football (soccer) as a young man, around 35/36 I noticed that Mon/Tues/Weds I was knocking off early or not doing as good a job as I should have because of stiffness or injury.
Then I turned around and realised I was the oldest guy in the team.

When the time comes, you know.

I would run after work in Oahu and the guy and his wife would say i didn't work hard enough if i can still find the energy to run.
I didn't last real long there....

That old crew boss was a pistol...grump after grump at the crew all day. But he got good work out of a bunch of 70's era hippie types, and he kept us together when the inevitable interpersonal frictions flared from time to time...partly because we all had a common enemy in him :). He never told you that you did good...if he said nothing, that was all the encouragement you were going to get. To be sure, if he wasn't happy with your work, you sure heard about that!

And he was the always first to buy the crew a round at the old Shinglemill Tavern in town after work, which he sheparded most of us to on Fridays. He was a tough old bird, but he took care of us too. They don't make many like him anymore. For certain, today's US Forest Service doesn't have any.
