    Full chisel 1/4” .043 cahin

So I have 2 climbing saws 1 35cc that I run 3/8lp on and a 25cc that I’ve been running the Oregon .325 nano chain or the Husky equivalent. Only thing about the nano is I hate the huge safety rakers it has, I’m ocd with hitting my depth gauges and those safety rakers make a simple task a pain in...

@SeanKroll , my barn for the equipment, roof and one wall to block the summer afternoon sun. Next year I'll probably add the other lean to and maybe enclose the middle for a work space, although I may build a separate structure for the shop. The only unique thing is a felt like material on the...

    How'd it go today?

Out of the box feel/hand I have to give the nod to Samson. I’m working my way through a reel of Maple leaf 1/2” and it feels slick and plasticy off the reel. But when it breaks in it’s nice, good wear resistance. Milks a bit more but nothing excessive.

I have a lot of Samson stable braid. Maple leaf ropes has good deals. A 3-strand hard lay Sampson tree-master if using a Maasdsm rope puller. I like the grip and friction of Treemaster for natural crotch self-lowering without a lowering device. Needs breaking in. Many don't...

    How'd it go today?

Absolutely! But I’d rather burn my 75’ ArborPlex than my 200’ Stable Braid!

My first climb line and rigging line were Arbor plex. Quickly got a 16 strand. Never had another AP.

When you’re going to run it natural crotch and burn it up anyway, why NOT use ArborPlex? I’m perfectly satisfied with it. Been using it for 35-ish years now. I use 1/2” for up to 500#-600# stuff, and 5/8” when it gets bigger. I have a 75’ hank that I keep hanging on my side when it’s not in use...

This brings to a close the eradication of Siberian elms from one of the golf courses my father in law who recently passed from cancer was superintendent of. Whole thing has been fun but bittersweet. I wish he had still been here to see me do it, and it done.
