    Akimbo 2 attachment question

Good pictures, @tarrtreestuff. I don't see any glaring issue with mounting the Akimbo as you have, though I wouldn't want to have mine basically permanently hanging on my bridge...I change climbing systems too often for that, depending on the tree. Your mileage may vary :). But I am pretty...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Weather here has been just plain weird...virtually no temp change throughout nights and days for 72 hours. Too warm for this time of year...lows around 54, highs around 56. Heavy rain. My little creek is not little now :).

Exactly so. I looked again and picked up the spacers, just as you describe, Cory. A nice method.

    Wood stove heat

Simple method. I'm not sure I've ever seen the need for tire or chain/bungee :), but aside from that, seems a reasonable trick.

    Exercise

Just kanoodling here...but if it is something that dreadful to contemplate, maaaaybe it might be just plain dreadful and be worth avoiding altogether? Maybe?? :P;):D

    Wood stove heat

I handle it like Rich does, though burning somewhat less dense fuels like we have here in my part of Oregon (Doug fir, BL maple, red alder) that issue doesn't really come up often. A deep bed of hot coals generates plenty of heat output from my stove, generally.

The Humboldt is primarily for speed of production

In logging here in the PNW, and I always assumed it was the same everywhere, the sawyers/buckers are required to buck to specific lengths the mills require, PLUS an added 6 or 8 or even 12 inches to allow for any uneven felling or bucking cuts. A log that is supposed to be 32 feet would have to...

That's a pretty spot, @SeanKroll. M and I camped there for several days a few years ago, enjoyed some very nice hikes. https://www.masterblasterhome.com/threads/off-to-camp-hike-southern-nevada-and-arizona.20879/page-2#post-899172

Got a good source for Stihl parts online?

I remembered this thread after my foray into acquiring the large D handles for my 064 and 044 saws. This seller on eBay has what seems like Stihl OEM parts, not knockoffs. I can't vouch for all prices, but at least some are better than my local dealer. Not to say cheap :). Might be worth a...

How much do you think you will you lose to the heart rot? From the pics, it looks substantial on some of the pieces.
