    I fully agree- the longer the bar, the more finicky it is thus needing more perfectly filed chains.

    My 32" bar was not sawing straight. I ran it over my grinder, and found the rails were very uneven, despite looking pretty nice. I think the longer bars are much less forgiving of being out of spec. I've got to do a lot of ripping tomorrow, so I'll find out quickly how it's cutting.

    M and I have just been back down to the Yachats part of the Oregon coast. Just a 3-day trip, timed to some nice high tides, though there wasn't much storm and wave action to make it really impressive. Still, a nice time in oceanfront accommodations right on the rocks and surf. Good food...

    We were a bit stretched out yesterday. Trees were tall and crane was set up downhill. This pic was taken after I had negative rigged the top and then attached the crane to it to fly it away. Makes for a long day when the highest we were good for was 3800#’s.
