    Sycamores

Dr goog says it is normal and happens in july and august as a result of tree growth and the inelastic older bark breaking off as new bark growth occurs. So I guess that is the answer but I'm surprised I never noticed it on a widespread basis with relatively sudden onset.

which „extras“ do you find essential for a wheel-loader?

One attachment that I strongly advise (especially for @skwerl who subs to different tree cos) is a winch. Not big so taking it is not a commitment, pulls trees over in a more controlled manner than just pulling with the machine. Plus you can get stuff up and out of awkward places to the...

    Retirement Trip

If you can imagine, I had never seen a chipmunk and was so surprised how small they are. I said to my daughter, look, there is squirrel and she told me, no mom that’s a chipmunk. Cute little critter. I just loved him, so cute. Headed to a drag race today, polar opposite from yesterday. LOL

    Retirement Trip

Our trip begins in Washington State. First adventure is to Mount Rainer! Mount Rainer is beyond description unless you are someone like Jerry with the gift of words. Majestical is what came to me. The wild flowers were amazing as were the trees.

I like my ropes... I wan not sending two noobs up with chains on saws. Just a training of climbing, no cutting. Let them know climbing is hard, even if it "looks like fun".

heres how good the pliers wrench is I went from an absolute hater of pliers to using those instead of anything else where possible, you're looking at a year of absolute abuse, cheater pipes, box end wrenches to extend them, using them for things you shouldn't ever use pliers for, I've been...

    How'd it go today?

I discovered Knipex tools several years ago. I have 7-8 different styles of pliers from them, all top quality tools. You can find them on Amazon.

which „extras“ do you find essential for a wheel-loader?

When I bought mine I bought both grapple styles. The root rake grapple (which I love) and the BMG style 'dangle' grapple because everybody says they are the best thing since sliced bread. After 9 months I sold the BMG style grapple because I had only used it twice. In the last 4 years I have had...

    How'd it go today?

I wouldn't say I EDC knipex on purpose, but more often than not I find myself putting them in my pocket because I use them so often, I quit carrying anything besides phone, wallet and keys since I'm usually around stuff with tools and don't like extra weight in my pockets, but this is one...

which „extras“ do you find essential for a wheel-loader?

I don’t have a cab, not sure I’d want one, too much getting in and out, too much chance of broken windows. If I was working in intense heat I’d want it for the air conditioning. But I’ve never felt the need for heating, heated seat is enough.
