    Timber Framing

Not fortunate enough to have done so, Stephen. I moved to Oregon in 1978, so it was gone by a bit over a dozen years or so by then. It is a building that people still talk about here. Like many places I guess, since I was not born here, the close to 50 years I have lived in Oregon at this...

It's happening everywhere...maybe not so badly, but still. My HO insurance has tripled in 5 years. Major wildfires/mandatory evacuations in 2020 put a scare in insurance providers. And I do live in a forested rural environment, no escaping that fact. Decades ago, it was hard for fires to run...

That would likely do it. Good picture, David.

If that's a removal, the HO is going to miss the shade bigtime...but the pool will stay cleaner :).

I appreciate you, my brother. Thanks.

I guess I understand. Not your property per se. Still in your mother's name I suppose? This is an open forum, no further discussion needed. Apologies Dave, if I got too personal.

You must be sitting on a gold mine, Dave. Ever consider selling and finding a greener pasture?

Log arch vs. parbuckling vs. rolling tailboard?

Sure, lock it to limit movement. But there has to be more friction with the steering capability, even locked...has to be. Or maybe I'm completely wrong...you would know far better than I, David. I'm just armchair speculating here. I'll await your reply. I also suspect you have access to...

    How'd it go today?

The mechanical stuff can make you crazy...but it is the electronics will drive you absolutely insane :D. When this stuff works, it is amazingly good, but when it does not the diagnostics of point of electrical failure, and some fiddly mechanicals, can be frustrating. Jags built in the...

Log arch vs. parbuckling vs. rolling tailboard?

That's better than I imagined...I thought you'd posted 6 mpg for yours, and for some reason I expected the rear steering setup would have more friction and thus be more fuel consumptive. I also note, you did write "might"...:D. "Free" waste oil is not something one finds handily available here...

    How'd it go today?

Sounds very much like many systems on my Jaguar...if the engineers could find a way to make a simple thing impossibly complex, they did it with glee.

Log arch vs. parbuckling vs. rolling tailboard?

I bet that thing needs about 100 gallons of diesel just to drive out of sight :D. Cool rig!

    Rock Climbing

Ah well, Pat...we all end up with aches and pains of some flavor if we work and live long enough. Not really sad, in that I'm still getting things done, just with some differences from years ago. Pretty much like you ;).

    Rock Climbing

My hands are the worst of it, too. Shoulders, wrists, come next. Hips, sometimes. Hand strength is also an issue, even without considering the pain. None of which make life as an active person as fun as it used to be, from time to time.

I agree, @cory. That was way overkill for what was needed to control those folks and open the road.

Nice work...put them right where they needed to be. That is definitely a well-executed strip layout :D.
