    Short bar, large power head

Ger', I have an old Homelite 990G that is a gear drive. 98cc's and It wears 1/2" chain and eats wood like no other thing I have ever cut with. Albeit slow... nothing will stop it once it starts to eat and you have your finger on the trigger. It had a 6' bar on it as it was used up in the...

    Chainsaw safety

Back when I was still active in the biz, we did this a lot too. With some of the bigger stuff (like really long and fat Doug Fir limbs), we would do it in a pile on the ground and have a bucket scoop it all up and into a dump trailer or a pickup bed. We were just a 2 man show. I personally...

    Masterblaster aka Butch Ballowe III

I plan to be around more. I've missed you guys a lot. 💗 Thank You Burnham. The wife and I are boxing up all of our crap to move for the final time, and I stumbled on to an old brass falling dog for a Homelite Zip that you gave to me eons ago. It was one of the things that prompted me back...

    Masterblaster aka Butch Ballowe III

Thanks Dave! :) Another cool thing Butch did was sometimes give people an avatar pic for whatever reason. I know it pissed some people off, but the avatar pic I have to this day is one Butch gave me. It's somehow made it over from the different forum changes. Gary

I have had a lot going on in my life. Maybe I'll dump it all on you cats one day. I feel bad for dipping on the Treehouse for so long. I pretty much strayed from all forums except for a couple of hot rodding and hunting forums. Good to see you cats too. :) I do plan to stick around, even...

    Masterblaster aka Butch Ballowe III

I do too. Butch and I had a pretty unique relationship. When I found the Treehouse I had just gone through a divorce, was still on active duty in the US Navy, and needed a hobby. So I started rebuilding chainsaws from the 60's and 70's. I then met a local dude that was cutting firewood and I...

    TreeHouse Tee Shirt Orders 2019

Hello all. I have been absent from so much for so long. I hope you all are in good spirits as I had just learned about Butch about a week ago. My life has changed so much since I was really active here, and can you believe I only own 2 saws now! Lol. Anyhoo... It has been fun to go through the...

    Hunting 2016

Had a chance at a huge 4x5 Blacktail this morning. I was at full draw at 40 yards and he spotted me and stopped moving on the game trail he was on. I needed him to take about 3 more steps for the shot between 2 trees. He would not budge. I sat there as long as I could but finally had to let...

    Hunting 2016

Will do Dave! I have shot 3 elk in my life and it is like gutting and processing a horse. Packing them out is not very much fun either. :) Gary

    Hunting 2016

No elk for us this year either. Great hunt with my family and friends... saw animals, but nobody was able to connect. Late archery buck has started for us now. Hoping to put more meat in the freezer as I'm almost out of venison from last year. :) Gary

    372 XP GAUGE

    I see no probs running .050 on a 372XP. I run 3/8" .050 on my 044 (same size as a 372) with a 28" bar. Works real nice. :) Gary

    Hunting 2015

The wife and I will be headed to Eastern Washington in April to Hunt Merriam's Turkeys. We put in for Spring Black Bear permits, but won't know for another month if we've been drawn yet. :) Gary

    Fishing 2014

Us too... gonna try again on Saturday... unless I get a buck that morning. Then we'll be dressin' deer for the freezer. Gary
