What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

Fake chicken patty sandwiches with cheese and hot sauce. I really like the fake chicken. It gives me everything I want from chicken(a meaty texture that holds hot sauce) without the animal torture. I'm not even that crazy about chicken. I like it fried, but otherwise, I could do without it, and you can frig right off with the white meat. Nasty stringy chokers that are dry and have no flavor. One of the worst scams perpetrated on the public; the idea that white meat was somehow more healthy and desirable than dark :^S

Much of what I have eaten over the years has merely been a vehicle for hot sauce. One thing I have had little success with is meat substitutes. I'm either eating meat, or I'm eating non-meat in a non-meat form.

Chicken substitute is the best; at least in a breaded nugget/patty form. I haven't had fake beef aside from stuff with soy additive, which I actually like. They used to serve those at school, and at the pool cantina. Fake sausage can be really iffy. I haven't had any that's like the real thing, but some are good on their own terms. Menu B workday mornings is a couple mystery meat extruded sausage links, and some kind of vegetarian sausage. The wegmans stuff I have now is bland as can be, and I couldn't recommend it as being good, but there's something I like about it. It reminds me a bit of mushrooms, but it has no mushroom in the ingredients. I have one kind in the freezer that have to be fried. They're very grainy, and not sausage-like at all, but the flavor's really good. Heavy on the rosemary for seasoning, and just a hint of sweetness. Tastes like fall. Aldi had some good patties from the Netherlands, but they haven't had those in awhile. Still not that meat like, but a good flavor.

I made gnocchi in a brown sauce with broccoli and a New York strip steak.

Hey, @lxskllr! I found a hotline for you. It's 1-888-SUB-MEAT. Give that toll free number a ring-a-ling-ding. They can place you in a program that can treat your unique meat substitute affliction heh heh =-P

I've been on soft food for two weeks because of a very painful ulcer under my tongue.

Doctor, dentist, x-ray, ct scan and mouth specialist. Turned out to be a bit of bone working out of the gum from a tooth I had removed last year and scratching under my tongue.

Got it out on Sunday so shopping Monday, it's red meat week. There's only so much tuna casserole and lentil curry I can take.

Really good rump Monday, then lamb steak and Roo steak tonight. No time for pictures it's been a busy few days.

I wouldn't feel badly about eating Kangaroo. They are the antithesis of endangered. There are tons of them in the wild and they likely farm them. I've eaten it one time before and it has the consistency of London broil sort of. Best way I can describe it. It was delicious.

Last night was steaks. Not sure what tonight will be.

I called the ex out on why we've all had the sprints for a week. KV has been practically living on pedialyte for that whole time. Every time she cooks, we all end up married to the out house. Jockeying for position for the shiter ain't my cup o' tea. Turns out, she's been WET WIPING the dishes, not washing them. So it's dysentery, not diarrhea. Great!

I've lived "off grid" my whole life, since long before that was a term. I've lived in "houses" with dirt floors. Never have I had the bowel problems that she's introduced since our divorce. It would be one thing if she was poisoning me, but our girls are getting sick too. If this turns out to be intentional, it's gonna get nasty.

I dont want to blame Sarah, but its getting hard not too, when everyone but her is shiting themselves to death.

How the hell am i supposed to find a job when I can't stop peeing from my butthole?

At least there's been no intestinal distress since I took over cooking again. Which only makes the whole situation seem more vindictive.

Grr, sorry yall. I'm just not sure where things went so badly wrong.

Ya know, I'm proud of myself when I can manage to make bacon and eggs without breaking a yolk or making the bacon too crispy. I do a damn fine steak, in fact I'm actually pretty good with large lumps of red, dead meat. But all-in-all, I'm pretty sure I'm a terrible cook...

stikine, please, if you can, share the shrimp patty recipe !
Here you go Virginia. They are quite good.

I just ate the absolute best brisket I've ever experienced in my entire life! My goodness, it was nothing short of incredible!

I got a 3-meat combo meal dealio from this BBQ place I've never tried before. So, I picked brisket for two of the meat options, and then also picked ribs for the third option. it also came with two sides, and I picked curly fries and potato salad. Because of the price, which was only $20, I thought the portions were probably going to be small. I was very, very wrong.

There was a TON of brisket, they gave me FOUR ribs (most places will only do two ribs for meals like these), and the sides were substantial to say the least. So awesome. 10/10 would recommend to a friend haha I've been eating super healthily for last two months, and this was a nice way to eat something more exciting than yogurt, salad, chicken, soup, sandwiches, pasta, blah blah blah...
