If you seriously wish to use less gas there are a lot better way's than this.

Here it is not uncommon they cover fronts in winter time to get heat. Usually a cardboard in front of radiator.
There are some fancy covers you can buy too.

When I was in mechanic school we went to see a engineer that rebuilt a Volvo 145's B20 engine to run 0,3 liter per 10 km.
Hos work was patented by a large company and put in the archives to be lost forever.

There is lots of way's to reduce milage. Manual gears and planned driving in small cars give great mpg.
