Yeah Bonner, the client mentioned he wanted vid and was willing to pay for it, around $250. Purdee neat! I also wanted to get some vid of Climber Madman Madrigali, and to sneak a couple plugs in there and call it good.

Thanks for watching guys, MB that's a neat screen shot - fancy stuff. Something neat about those shots. Did you watch the whole thing or still a little long? Stephen, hella spread for sure, crane guy did a good job:thumbup: that was a steep hillside and tough setup. I left in some longer clips on the cutting part too, just for fun.

I just watched the whole thing, too...well done. I almost felt like I was cutting the wood...good work with the camera...smooth, not jerky.

I had no idea a limb would weigh 800 - 1000 pounds. Those comms are excellent. Are they from PCTree?

Hahahaha cool, thanks guys... Yeah Gary, the radios work great, but I didn't get them from PCTree. Motorola, a little bulky but we manage. Heavy, heavy tree!

Took down a wee little fir tree, I used the pry-bar technique to tip the top... learned that one from Bonner... thanks Bonner.

Pry bar, eh? I musta missed that one from Nick... cool.

Here it is Butch.

A neat trick when topping, especially on conifers, is to leave a stub just above where you plant to make your back cut... A foot, or two, depending on the diameter, makes a huge difference when you use it as a lever to tip the top off. You can throw a big piece with 18" of leverage, you just need to make sure you dont use too thin a branch thats too long and break it, if you get what I am saying... Its like having a crowbar.

I actually do that when I am flopping pines and spruces and such from the ground as well... Instead of putting a rope, using wedges or pushing it, I strip all the lower branches as SOP but leave one at waist level about 2-3' and tip that tree over.
