What is the little bug and my mini avatar

I am seeing a little bug and a mini avatar of mine when I am looking at the new posts today. Is it something new or am I bugged. Thanks.

Someone here(Blue?) has an animated avatar of a bug walking around. Could that be what you're seeing?

Although the new larger avatars make the bug less realistic when full size. It still looks good as a mini avatar. It has fooled me at least once because I do occasionally get a gnat on my screen.
