I pulled my Jd tractor out of the garage to clean around it. After starting the tractor the 3 point hitch went straight up and would not come back down. I checked everything, Realized the fluid was a little low topped it off and still no movement. The loader on the front works fine as well as the pto. Can't seem to figure out what would have caused it to do that. Any suggestions on where to start. All the linkages from the levers are intact.

YEah, I just looked it up in the manual, It said something about a implement lock, Called the rockshift valve. I'll check that.

On some of the older tractors you have to put a little weight on it to get it to go down the first time. Thats the way the old Ford is.
But I don't know how old you're tractor is.

I've never had a tractor that new but on the old ones there was an adjustment lever that would get pulled up once in a while. It's located in proximity to the regular 3 pt lever.
