I bought this stumper specifically for one job, and that was one job too many. It is a witch to push, run and load on the truck. Today I mounted it on my MT52. It isn't quite done yet, I need to mount the hydraulic ram, and a pedestal for the on/off switch and the throttle.

I didn't cannibalize anything and it can be put back to original condition in about 15 minutes.

I'll take the wheels and brake off too. The ram only has a 4" stroke.

Steve pointed something about the pics. The log lift is NOT attached to the stumper in any way! I will finish it today, and take some better pics.

Power is always an issue, isn't it? :D At least this stumper has the 13HP on it, they make one with a 9HP engine. Could be worse, it could be hydralically driven!!!:whine:

It is done and tested. Even with the 4" stroke ram, it sweeps a total of 22". The real drawback to this series stumper is the small diameter cutter wheel. The belt guard is the limiting factor. This can be overcome be grinding a wider hole than you need.

The only issue I had building it was I set my left shoulder on fire. It got through my coat and bunny hug before I noticed!:O

We used this thing for the first time (on an actual stump) since I modded it. It worked way better than it ever did by hand. It is still not perfect, as the friggin wheel is too small a diameter.

For the guys that have a mini, and would like to cut small stumps, it is a lot better than runnin' 'em by hand, and you can pick them up cheap! I sadly paid full price for this one about 5-6 yrs ago. I see on flea-bay you can get one for under 2K.

good Mod for sure,
much smarter than doing the HULU dance with that thing by hand :lol::lol:

Whats that little bugger cost new

I paid 4500 for that thing! Thats why I suggested flea-bay, you can pick up a virtually new one for a 1/3 of that!

Brent, I had come to the conclusion after watching many seasons of "The Prairie Farm Report" that rural Canadians had too much spare time on their hands. Thank you for not bursting my bubble!!!!! Looks good. Definitely better than man-handling it. Only tried it once at a trade show, but that was enough.
