I used to spend a lot of time outdoors, now I’m usually sawing while outdoors. Took a break yesterday.

Parry pinyon according to Seek app. I was pretty stoked, kinda rare, mostly in Baja. I’m going to call this the Treeo area since I found 3…and go climb them next time.

Lordy there are a lot of different oak just in CA…

I found this bottle with a bunch of bug that apparently got in and couldn’t get out, along with a couple sprouts.

I’d rather be in AZ with bigger cooler temp
Maintains but yes. It was also better before they put a bunch of huge bird choppers in. 😒

I can't find anything in my program regarding the oak, but the catkins look pretty unique. Maybe you can narrow it down using those.

Great Pics!! Thanks for sharing!

I've been to Joshua Tree NP on rock climbing trips a couple of extended times. The landscape is similar.
Just a hop skip and jump away. @Burnham has been down around here and has a thread with pics

Searched my posts checking for my lion story. The rock piles I hopped around on burned last summer…maybe native artifacts to find now.
