Online gambling

Word of caution.....if you use a debit card that is in any way associated with a business account for online gambling you'll get in trouble. Banks have to adhere to federal regulations regarding online gambling.

Wise advice, both Steve and Terri. Regulations of one sort or another are creeping in. Still, the Vegas casinos will likely be setting up sites if they haven't already, it is the future of the games unless big brother shuts it down. There are money laundering concerns that get mentioned if you look into how governing bodies are responding to the activity. Had it been real money, I would have lost two grand last night in about forty minutes. :( I wouldn't encourage anyone to gamble, and not the point of this thread. Just saying that with blackjack the player has a much better chance against the house if you have studied the percentages with the varying deals, how to respond, and also how the rules of the various games being played give favor or not to the player. I was wondering if anyone had experience via the logic, and the results they had found? Luck is a definite element too. Steve, I'd be curious what your friends were playing, and if blackjack, did they study the game before gambling?

As far as games being legit or not, what I have read is that there have been some problems, taking a long time to collect your winnings and requiring frequent communications about it. Sites disappearing too, not a good thing if they owed you. It would be easy enough for software to be altered to cheat the player. Given that, the consensus seems to be that there are recommended sites where it appears that honesty is looked upon as better serving the intentions of the house by making more money by being trusted, attracting more players as the favorable reputation spreads.
 
I can't for the life of me understand how anyone could trust online gambling .Rationaly thinking it would stand to reason the deck is stacked against you .It's a suckers game and it is the internet where anything can and will happen .Then to use a credit card ,good grief .Lawdy might just as well just hand over the money and get it over with ,foolish,foolish ,foolish .:what:
 
You don't trust ANY online money handling, don't you? No CC info online for you, right?

I'm still waiting to get ripped off... 'taint happened yet but I've only done a couple hundred online transactions... it could happen any day!
 
Yes and no .I have pay pal and on rare occasions such as airline tickets I have used a credit card on line .

As you said correctly no I'm not a trusting soul when it comes to my money and internet hackers .

When a couple of teenage hackers in some third world country can hack into the Pentagon just how safe is it?

It's okay I suppose if a person has faith in the system which being a dinosaur I do not .Might be a brave new world for some I just prefer to remain in the dark ages over some things .:lol:

Kind of sucks because for over a year I get payed by online electronic transfer. Every stinken investment I have is just a file on a computer .It isn't the wealth of Bill Gates but I've worked a lifetime for it .It sure would suck with a half life if some SOB snatched it by some hokus pokus of a computer keyboard .:(
 
Gambling? I've not gone to a casino or internet casino.

Does investing everything I have into a business and saying "I bet I can make a living doing this" count?

Other than that the only thing I ever remember betting on was Cassius Clay would win. Bet against him only once, when he fought Ernie Shavers (my ultimate boxing hero).

Sorry, you failed proving that you have the necessary IQ to gamble without ruining your life. You can apply again in six months.
