Spinoff from my other thread. Besides wrapping the trunk or other methods for lanyards, let's talk about the first cut. Taking the top out. Seems that would be where to start...
Went through all my books and they talk about the different felling cuts and cuts for working down the spar. Bit none address the top cut.
How do you treat the very first cut for the top? Say it has noajor lean, do you do a face/back cut like a felling cut, or do you do a side to side small cut to prevent tear out and then an overlap cut?
