To keep bird from biting sleeping dogs or anyone else, flying at shy people, chewing wood, chewing metal locks on windows, teasing dogs with food from counter, dropping stuff on their heads etc.
i put bird under inverted milk crate, he can still wander some, and still squirt with water bottle if gets out of line.

If sales person comes to door, might even open if bird under crate.
Curious bird will follow to door,
Then pretend there is no bird or milk crate as it spirits around in dark doorway like Adams Family...

Put broomstick down on floor across doorway to keep out of a given room.
After so many pets we kinda pulled all carpet up some time ago.

Metal chairs( like in detective series) are specifically to be bird pruf..
