Is a MS 361 with a new Stihl piston and cylinder worth $400? I don't know any details at all so I know it might be a kind of hard to answer question.

If it's in good condition, then I would think so. Although I would be curious as to why it needed a new piston and cylinder.

Traded out $200.00 in labor for an 036 in really great shape last year... See if he'll go 300.00..... And I am with Leon on that one... Why would it need a new P&C?

Doesn't sound like a great deal, but might be worth it. I think they are going for around the same price as a new 200T here, bout' 600ish.

I already have an 046 so I'm not interested unless it's some super deal.

Why would it need rebuilt.I don't think they have been on the market that long .:? Amicks price on a brand spanking new one with a 20" is $589 .

I don't think it has even been rebuilt yet. The local Stihl mechanic is the one who has it. I'm speculating that someone burnt it up and he ended up with it for free and he is trying to rebuild it and sell it.

If i were in the market for one, it seems $189 is a small price to pay for piece of mind in not wondering why it needed all the work in the first place...

Heck I've got two 46's and two 361's. And one of the 361's would definetly impress y'all, but it's not quite stock. I would take a 460 over a 361 anyday though. But I'll never run stock saws again.

$400 for the used 361 with P&C, I'd say for certain walk Steve.
