Not the guy I'm thinking of. Just wired that way for some reason, or maybe something to do with his wife. :(

You guys ever have a problem with a worker that is too intense? It's like gung-ho from the start and he works in a kind of frenzy until the last minute of the day. I don't want to say that it is so much a problem, but just a bit too much sometimes. I sometimes work with a guy like that, an...

A petite girl too, not one of those super beefed up macho chicks that will drive their high heels through the floor, like you see at Gold's Gym. Nothing really against them though. :D

Talks bad about you to your wife..... I'd be wanting to have a little discussion with that fellow myself. Respect where it's due to former teachers, but anything bad to be said, say it to your face or shut up.

Chris, I think it is a real good point about becoming someone's father. The manual trades are generally so much different from much of what you learn in school, unless you were the one of the guys that were really into shop. Often before someone is able to progress within the scope of what...

I think that if you aren't born with the ability to work hard, it can be changed. It can take a revolution of your soul, not an easy task. Stick around for at least three years and hold on to the desire.

Too much unproductive individuality in the states. That is how the education goes....be unique! Unfortunately, a best approach only for geniuses. In other places, there is more ability to link your consciousness with the total group effort at a given task. Also, possibly people are less adept...

One guy on the regular crane crew is not very good at telling jokes, but he laughs well enough at ours so he gets forgiven.

it seems like so much comes down to whether the person really wants to be there in the first place. Sometimes I help out a friend of mine that does tree work, mostly mountain maintenance clearing, but also residential. Bunch of new guys there one day, lots of people come and go. He assembled...

I like the guy that picked up my saw when i wasn't using it, took it over to where he needed to cut something, then when he was finished just left it there, so I had to go retrieve it. I don't mind someone on the crew using my saw if it is handy to cut something, but I appreciate it getting...

Thinking ahead comes out of the need for survival. Lots of folks seem to have never required that. I like working with people that since they are walking by something, and since it needs to go in the same general direction at some point and remaining there is pointless, why not pick it up then?

No gripes really, but one fella can often be found just sort of standing around when there is work to be done. I got to a job I ran a couple weeks ago. Busy to of had to arrange some things with the property owner and also get my gear unloaded and in order, and set up for the crane arrival...
