Moose hunt was a great time but not overly successful meat wise. Saw two bulls but neither were legal to harvest. A couple of videos I took of one of them.

I picked up some lightly used tanner/king crab pots today for a very reasonable price. I'll try to get them fishing this weekend if possible.

That all sounds great B. I wish I had access to tomatoes like that. Daughter #1 is back home now and will get started picking blueberries and huckleberries this weekend.

Since your latitude is similar to mine I'm guessing all the tomatoes are grown in your poly tunnel?

Finished up the last of the sockeye today... smoked bellies and collars. Quite tasty. The one whole fillet that I sectioned up I'm going to enter in the smoked salmon contest for our Bearfest that starts this week.

Finished sorting and counting. We ended up with 93 fish split between 3 households. Lots of work cutting tomorrow.

Spent the weekend gillnetting for sockeye salmon and we did quite well. I think our count is somewhere between 80-90 fish for the two nets we fished. Overall very nice weather and we tent camped near the nets. A few pics:

Yeah, the bottom line is that I'll only use sea water for steaming crab when it's a long way from any domestic area. There are too many pollutent sources near towns... even around here.

Probably could do that but would have to wait overnight. I just add a good dose of sea salt and some Old Bay seasoning most of the time.

If there is a clean source I do. Around Wrangell this time of year it's really silty from the river runoff.
