Jerry and I have had a discussion about that. Seems reaming work best on softwood, not so well in hardwood. A wedge or the neat trick, I learned here is your friend for that. Cut a slim wedge out of the top of the log, bang it in with the bar, then cut in below it. Might need a bit of reaming...

I wrote the dealer and BITCHED!!! Got a lot of questions back, as in " Have I used the bar to tip trees with" Wrote back and laid the dinosaur story on him. As In: " I have been a pro faller for 45 years, you idiot" That sure changed the tone. They are sending me a bunch of replacement tips...

So, if me not greasing is the cause, please explain to me why none of the thousands of other bares we've worn out over the years in my company have blown the tips after so short a time. I mean.........................7½ hours and the thing gives up the ghoist!

More bad news. Saturday I put the last 20" Tsumura bar on the 500i. Used it to take an apple tree apart, maybe 10 minutes of work. Then today, I started logging at 7.30 AM when it was light enough to see and 2.15 PM the bar tip sprocked exploded!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for complaining, there are no...

We switched from Stihl light bars to Oregon Versa cut light bars. Versa cut is 30 grammes heavier than Stihl but WAY cheaper. I honestly can't tell any difference in how long they last, so we switched to Oregon. Now well see how well the Tsumura stuff does. For someone not running saws 2000...

This was a fine thread that goes back to the good old days, before Frankie made all our pro saw builders leave the 'House. I don't know how Carls mind works, but I guess to him a nameless troll is worth 2 professional saw builders................whatever. Be that as it may, I finally got to...

Since Sweden just happens to be next door to Denmark, it doesn't cost more to have stuff shipped from there. Thanks, Wally. We're fine. You too, I hope. Now you've all giving me a hankering to try those bars, might just order a few, even though we found that stack og new Stihl bars.

They are also very heavy. I'll gladly trade a bit durability for lighter weight.

    Tsumura bars

Yes it is. Thanks for the replies everybody. I won't be buying any right now, however. Richard cleaned out the filing shop in the lunch wagon today and found 6 new 20" bars that someone had placed on the top shelf, where nobody can see them, and forgot all about, apparently. So we are good...

I've just found out that I can buy these in Sweden. The exchange rate from Danish to Swedish kroner is VERY much in my favour. Do any of you have any experience with them and how well they hold up?
