My custom Wescos have all fit me perfectly. But then I went to the factory and got measured.

Yep. I was going up to be fitted for another pair of custom caulks next spring, but leukemia put an end to that. I could simply order by phone, but I have a feeling that my feet have changed since I was measured 15 or so years ago, so I'd like to go through that again.

Is that why the heels on my Wesco caulks are called "spring heels"? I've been a it worried because I mostly wear them in winter.

Nope. Actually I think if we ever got a chance to meet and work together, we'd have a fine time.

I don't doubt it, Steve. That phrasing was just a bit too metrosexual for an old woodsman.

I got all the chick I need. I'm all about function, not about being urban chic (as anyone who has seen my motorcycle will testify:lol:)

" but at the same time enhances the aggressive appearance making this boot a contender for urban fashion as a casual everyday boot." That statement alone would be enough to make me choose another boot.

I looked at those, and seriously, I don't think that spiking mechanism will hold up to the rigours of daily logging. Meindls don't fit my feet anyway, but Martin was lusting for a pair. Let me know how they hold up, maybe will give him a pair for next winter.

I haven't tried those, Ed, so I wouldn't know. The Stihl and Haix are bulky and uncomfortable IMO. My Wescos have steel toes. They'll make them with those when you have them custom fit.

I don't " rely" on my saw pants, even though I have tested them ( By accident, while wearing the.) I'm simply pissed off that you are required to wear those stiff, clunky boots here, when running saws. When they don't work anyway. I wear my Wescos, and if I ever get in trouble over it, I'll let...

Chainsaw protective boots is a misnomer. They have little to no effect unless you hit the steel toe. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/wI9jEvHiheQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Go about ½ way into the video, the first part is just some jerk trying to...

You know Chris, everything you said about your beloved Whites, I can echo. Just about Wescos instead. Sometimes you get lucky with the leather, sometimes less so. I don't think it matters much which brand the boots are, as long as it is one of the top brands. They'd lose ther rep, if they...

If you ever get anywhere near Scappoose OR. Visit the factory. It is like stepping through a time warp. Back to the good old days of REAL shoemakers. Just the smell of leather and polish in the fitting room is a treat in itself. I would say that when you buy a pair of wescos, you are putting...
