    Thin smooth bark hardwood +spring sap flow+ 195lbs usually results in a bit of chafe on the main tip for me. Not enough to worry, but I've witnessed some damage, usually when tied in to wood<4 inches

    I still base tie even after my little mishap. Tied in twice and no worries. For me, one of the biggest advantages of SRT is not having to isolate a limb.

    Redirects on spready trees are amazing for comfort of climbing. You can borrow my hitchhiker if you want. Easy dDRT SRT transition.
