Dave, there are two cores in cherry bomb. The second core gets pulled at Mark 2 of the first core and before the final bury it gets marked, cut at the mark, and then you taper the 3 strands, after which when you bury them they should disappear.

Maybe its the camera angle but the rope looks funky down by the head of the hammer. If done right its doable, but you're really gonna work for it. Like really, really, really work for it.

Might have been set up wrong. A loopie will slip if the bite when set up isn't on the crossover.

Make sure you taper the core before burying it, otherwise you'll never be able to pull it through. I pulled 6 strands before pulling it through.

Nope, I just did my standard measurements and everything for a 7/16"/11mm line.

Few from yesterday

After being crazy busy with work I'm back into doing a lot of splicing! Did all these over the past few days, plus 4 or 5 others not pictured.

I wouldn't use that if I were you. An end to end splice is generally used for creating an endless loop prussic. I've never seen it used too make two halves of rope whole before. It looks like you did an awesome job on it, just my personal 2 cents, I wouldn't trust it as a rigging line.

Thanks! There's really no use for them, I honestly did those just too say I did and join the unofficial 'fly eye and eye' club haha. I mean, you could use it as a bridge/hitch extender, but tenex works better for that. Really, there's not really a use for them. And it's really not too bad...
