I've been looking at the smokejumpers for my next pair, that or another pair of wesco jobmasters, or nick's.....how is one to decide?

They do not articulate and although they look bulky, they are not at all and very comfortable. I never gaff out with these, the spike itself is totally different from american tree spikes they take getting used to but I love em' . They are like a crossing between a pole spike and a tree spike...

boots are breaking in nicely, have about 10 walking miles on them and are really starting to form to my feet already. I have yet to climb with them. I think they will be ok on spikes however I think ALICO's moutaineering model would be better suited. I have never had a problem wear spikes...

I'm not a firefighter but i do a lot of walking / field work / standing....

im in need of new loggers, I'm on the fence between wesco firstormer and white smokejumpers....

what kind of whites? smokejumpers? linemen?
