Large Limb(?) Removal - How Would You Handle It?

Heh... I kinda flaked out on the job. Between work, heat, soft ground, and just plain not wanting to do it, I haven't gotten back to him. After all these months, I have crafted an advocacy for the tree that perhaps stretches the truth, but doesn't get into pure BS. I want to talk to him, and...

Large Limb(?) Removal - How Would You Handle It?

I don't know the guy, but it sounded to me like he really wants it gone. The other two tasks he wants are sidelines to the main event. This thread was useful in deciding a course of action. I feel better about just "felling" the limb. Facecut, bore, release. I was worried about screwing it up...

Large Limb(?) Removal - How Would You Handle It?

It's always gonna be a removal later, right? Rot sets in, the interior column hollows, and 50 years later it blows down in a storm. Not touching the tree would likely make it last longer, but it'll still end in removal.

Large Limb(?) Removal - How Would You Handle It?

You don't have to convince me Sean. I wonder how it works on people that are afraid of trees? My right hand neighbor cut down almost every tree on his property, and he was eying the poor Japanese maple suspiciously :^D He said one of the branches didn't look right, and was worried the tree was...

Large Limb(?) Removal - How Would You Handle It?

I could try talking to him. Problem is I'm not an arborist. I'd like to give him some better data than "Cause I like trees". If something happens later, I'll be the asshole. Being an arborist wouldn't protect me from that, but I could at least say the data I derived my decision from was sound...

Large Limb(?) Removal - How Would You Handle It?

I agree Bermy, but the guy really seems to want that limb gone. He specifically mentioned it again when he stopped by the office to see if I came up with a price. The only "problem" I could see was he told me that limb is dropping. It bumps his head now, but didn't before. I was wondering if it...

Large Limb(?) Removal - How Would You Handle It?

I got the go ahead to deal with the trees at work, and this one has been taking most of my thought... It's the left leader the guy wants removed. I think it's the coolest part of the tree, but he's worried about falling branches. Kind of comes with the territory regarding trees. Every tree...
