Since it was right here, here's my ⅝" splices. The red is marking the end I considered "good", but looking at it now, it isn't substantially better than the other end.

How do you do the splice Stephen? What I do is stick a marlinspike into the twist to make room, then put a Swedish fid into that, then place the strand. My two problems are my tucks are lumpy and ugly, and after a couple rounds, I lose track of where I am. It becomes congested, and I end up...

Nice job. Looks a lot better than my treemaster splices, especially my ⅝". I made a flipline, and it looks like ass. It's more than strong enough for that purpose, so I called it good enough after my third attempt(an eye on each end, and one I took out and respliced), but I've been thinking...

I noticed that too. Would be good for light rigging, but that size looks like it's treading in whoopie territory.

Now you have to break test it to make sure you did it right, then do four more and break them so you know you're consistent, and then you can work on the one you're gonna use :^P

I rather like the exposed nails. They can be a problem as sock catchers, but I like the way it looks. I also prefer well aged floors. The wear and dirt infused grain give it more character.

What surface did you photograph on Eric? The wood and nails are interesting.

It would be tedious, but perhaps you could take a piece of throwline apart and rebraid it with fewer strands.

Is it like throwline? Zingit and dynaglide are dyneema. I could send you some if it'll work.

Photos are always really nice too. I especially like the lighting(processing?) he uses. Very warm colors. It's exactly the way I like things to look; like it's lighted by candles.

Do you make dog leashes? It would be a decent etsy gig. Use used ropes, and talk it up as an enviro thing in the description. Sell deluxe spliced leashes. Could also target small indie dog/pet stores. It's not a get rich thing I don't think, but you could make a few bucks making those sweet...

What am I seeing there? Is it a break test chart? What do the numbers represent?
