i don't really think thats true. at least not for everyone. i often put it under the spur as well. never gaffed myself, nor has it even crossed my mind that it would be a danger. i have gaffed myself a few times doing other silly things however.

i had the blessing of breaking my right hand the summer between freshman and sophmore year of college, had to do everything left. dicovered a lot of interesting things. the off hand is smart, it picks things up quick. I also realize just because you write and eat with your right, doesn't...

i use the jetstep. because it is ambidextrous and i like to be able to kick out. prefer not to have to fiddle with it to get out of it. i footlock a lot though too. still after all is said and done, its the simplest way for me to get around a tree although slightlyyou have to watch out...

i do recommend getting a right and a left ascender. often in the tree, it is only a few feet you need to go so I just use one ascender. you can get overuse syndrome if your always using the same foot. i swap around the way i footlock too in order to keep balanced.

some quarters i make enough to think We should just quit tree work altogether. than other quarters I make very little. it is real money though and a very big help. the problem is it is unreliable and i have no way of predicting what people buy and when. it is not stable enough to quit my...

Im a base tie person for the most part. But canopy anchors are also a good option. This is the best option i have found. The flint locker. Allows for a number of redirects and you can still pull it out.

Cory, look at rigging that tether so it doesnt flop with the carabiner. A split tether and a shackle works. Or if you have a very small carabiner. . It is much more efficient if there is no flop in there.

That was the one and only time I did storm work. Right during the 2008 crash. I was pretty hungry for work. I was influenced by the guy who brought me down there, this guy named Joey Cornell. Amazing climber, had trained with tactical forces and stuff, super into guns and climbing and also...

Yeah Cory. The fact that I was paid by the tree, and the trees were close together, SRT was perfect in that I could move horizontally through the intertwined canopy for my whole length of rope and get 3 or 4 or 5 trees with one climb and the friction was consistent. To advance rope, I...

SRT is pretty simple. Some advantages some disadvantages. The main thing is climbing much more upright on the rope. Climbing with legs as opposed to body thrusting. For me that was a natural motion but a lot of people are really efficient ddrt in a way that doesn't transfer to srt. Set is...

Single jack and Tom D have found that using an ascender that you dont have to take of the line at all like the shunt or Gibbs type ascender works well. that way when you descned the ascender follows you down the rope. That seems like a good atribute for an upper rads ascender
