    Unsafe setup?

I sometimes undo my cinched lifeline to move up the stem and then reattach it during a cut. If I run into a bald face hornets next, I’m screwed though. But, for the most part, it’s in place. I’ve done the dual lanyard system before and hooked up the lifeline at each cut.

    Unsafe setup?

It can be a pain to drag up cinched around the tree. That’s for sure

    Unsafe setup?

I ended up with the swivel between the adjuster and biner. I like it so far. I can tend it in my arms optimal pulling alignment and it hangs down when not needed. It makes it a similar set up to the ART 2 positioner with swivel.

    Unsafe setup?

Kinda like John’s experience. I bought the swivel when using the hitch climber pulley setup to help untwist the rope. Then Burnham directed me to several threads on the topic about how it made it worse. My experience followed suit. I would not put a swivel on my bridge again. Some people like...

    Unsafe setup?

You may very well be correct Burnham. I do tend to agree about swivels complicating matters which is why this swivel was sitting around unused. We’ll see how she does. The Prusik or twisted clevis may be the better answer.

    Unsafe setup?

I’m left handed. I’m not saying a swivel is totally essential but may provide some benefit just like the swivel on the other end (snap) where it attached to the saddle.

It’s mostly to take the 90* twist” out of it to keep the rope grab horizontal. Some rope grabs solved this problem by turning the attachment eye 90* making it perpendicular to the device’s body. I have had the biner “bunch up” and load weird as well. The swivel will most likely solve this as...

    Unsafe setup?

Marc, I thought my swivel opening was too small for the eye on the Climb Right but it will be a nice fit! I’m curious about your setup Fiona and how you incorporate the soft link.

    Unsafe setup?

Great information as always Burnham. I don’t like the clangy nature and I’m not totally thrilled at the extra few inches of distance but I’d like to incorporate a swivel as it could help optimize the angles when adjusting as well as alleviate the twists/bunching that sometimes occur. How’s...

    Unsafe setup?

Is this the wrong way to add a swivel to my flip line due to the biner to biner action? I’ve always heard that was an erroneous practice but I don’t remember any reasons why.
