I have been thinking the same thing, Sean...about the chipper in a dump trailer idea. If I go that route, I might think of loading the chipper with either the winch on the chip truck, or a winch mounted to the front of the dump trailer. A guy could also figure out how to par-buckle logs onto a...

Me too pard. I am a worker bee. The business side of my business is running me into the ground right now. I am on a fire roster to fall timber, and I really hope I get out soon, just to get away from my business for a while.

It never ceases to amaze me, by how many of my clients have beautiful green yards, and trees that have no mulch rings, and they wonder why their trees are not doing very well. Even after I try to explain to them the benefits of having mulch around the trees, they still don't want the chips. I...

Dang, I would have wrote the same thing Stephen :) My one ton is always over loaded, but I am good at getting rid of chips onsite.

I agree! It just makes sense for me, and my situation to run solo, and I understand, not for most.

Great thread Sean...especially since I climb solo 95% of the time. It seems that most tree guys prefer to always have help, which is no doubt safer, but a guy can make it work solo, and still maintain safe practices, and be a professional. Pretty much everything that has been mentioned already...
