Never heard of Opsals before, but then I haven't climbed in the last 12 years either. I'm in Florida and had the velcro wrap pads for a while but they are very hot. By far the most comfortable pads I ever used were the shin cup pads. I think Buckingham makes them, not sure. After I gave up...
