    And now I wait

Railing's been there since the house was first built (70's). It is so unsafe, there is enough room for a skinny person or a child to go through while falling in the stairs. We like it though, spiral staircases are huge space savers.

Thanks. It makes all the time spent moving and sticking and stacking the boards all worth the effort.

Dug up an old picture. Before and After. It was worth the wait. The close up looks like marble cake. Definition sucks, I know.

Thanks! 11 inch wide on a planer that has a 12.5 inch capacity is tough on the machine. I am starting to consider a planer and sled setup.

Very cool setup. I see a couple chairs and cups of coffee and hours spent watching wood dry.Do you have an exhaust? If yes, is it automated or running on a timer?

Call me insane but I rotate the stack every month. It is due next week. I will align the stickers then. I will apply paint within the next few days. I think the wait time and all the thinking is part of the fun. Beats watching Netflix.

Good advice. Here is the latest stack. I need to align the stickers and move them closer to the end.

These boards were rescued from a friend with failed woodworking hobby dream. All the wood I mill or get milled is lined up against the garage walls. I leave a few inches of air space between the wall and the stack. After 3 months, no mold to be seen.

    And now I wait

This picture is vaguely related to the thread. Three years stored outside under a tarp. The board started all black with what seemed like mold. I started with 4 quarters (1 inch) thick board and I ended up at 3 quarters finished. It is worth the wait. The board below is a year and a half old and...

Nice projects all around. I cut some sugar maple a few weeks ago. My garage and all its content still smell like sap. I figure at least 1 year of that sweet, sweet smell.
