I form the eye by passing the taper through the hollow braid (like you would start a brummel). But twice. Then bury the taper out. Proper length of bury. Lock stitch and...

Well, this happened. 5/8ths Tenex TEC dead eye I spliced. Had to guy a large gray pine and pull it 45* out of a heavy head lean out of a small group of oaks. Beyond guitar string tight. Thos dead eye was holding the large porty on the guy. Stripped the whipping back and off the lock stitches...

It was time to replace the Loopie on the Pinto Rig and I had a little 3/8ths Tenex left over to make a dead eye for my mini porty or small pulley. Aiko thought they were cool.

Some big ol eye and eye going on there. That one dude holding the rag at the bottom of the clevis bell while the hot lead is being poured, thats trust man. Gotta be a big boy bending that kind of rope.

I hear ya. I have them splice my flip line for me at WesSpur. The 5/8th rope finished at 20 feet eye 2 eye is under 100.00 with out the clips. I just move that hardware over from each flip line as I get a new one. So about the same price or less than a cable core. Pretty justifiable. Way...

Loopies and dead eyes. Did a couple rings as well. Tenex. Yup. That is all I decided I would do. I pay someone else to hurt their hands and sweat on the more complex shat. I won't even splice 3 strand as simple as it is. I make more money using it than what I save splicing. Dead eyes of Tenex...
