    How's the splice today?

I also stretched the rope out and milked it a little so the twist/hockles let me do a nicer splice. Every pass if the strands pushes the twist back and tighter into the rope. So I tried to " loosen" the hank up a bit and let the twist run out the tail.

    How's the splice today?

Iam no expert. And I doubt I'll ever get a tight eye unless I go to a softer handed rope. But those tips helped me.

    How's the splice today?

I use a proper Swedish fid. Tape the ends of each strand. Pay attention to the twist of each strand. Once you have the strand pushed under the proper strand in splice, twist the strand in its natural.direction. this will help if you do it as you pull the strand through. When you tape the ends...

    How's the splice today?

I put a Gibbs on one, and the Petzl Micrograb on the other. My Macro is on my 5/8ths cable core. I used the Micro grab in case Kavey wants to try it. His little 1/2 inch cable core has a 2 way grab (about the same size grab) I detest it. I showed him why. I have let him use my small positioning...

    How's the splice today?

Not really. Not a locking brummel either. Not sure what you would call it. It is like how the tree guard cable splice is done. I form the eye by passing the taper through the hollow braid (like you would start a brummel). But twice. Then bury the taper out. Proper length of bury. Lock stitch and...

    How's the splice today?

Well, this happened. 5/8ths Tenex TEC dead eye I spliced. Had to guy a large gray pine and pull it 45* out of a heavy head lean out of a small group of oaks. Beyond guitar string tight. Thos dead eye was holding the large porty on the guy. Stripped the whipping back and off the lock stitches...
